MUZAK. Sweet, sweet muzak

I love that memories cling to songs and artists.

Anything by Van Morrison and Roy Orbison reminds me of the love of my dad. Annnd, just the mention of Alice Cooper calls to mind the rebellious core of my dad’s strong-willed soul.

He may have only listened to them in Jr & Sr High, but when I hear Eric Burton & the Animals I think of my intelligent, cool & kind baby brother. The theme song to Married with Children solidifies Buster as my baby brother in my mind & heart forever, as it was the very first thing I sang to him.

“Itsy-Bitsy, Teeny-Weeny, Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini” is the song my mother sang when she gave me baths as a baby (this I don’t remember, but have heard enough times to say with certainty.) The song impresses upon me the love she has felt for me my entire life.

This has been my week.

Yo, ALLERGIES:

Do you want to know a secret?

When I’m sick, I love being alone in my room & getting to cough without covering my mouth.

This week I started my new job as a nanny/chauffeur for a family. Weekdays I pick up their 9yr-old and 6yr-old daughters and drive them to various practices and/or home to do homework and play. On our way home from tae-kwon-do, the 6yr told me she wants to be an inventor when she grows up. Currently she is in the process of “inventing” a fishing pole for her 2yr-old sister, made from sticks, tape & 2 pieces of string. The eldest of the sisters loves arts & crafts, and acts like she doesn’t know she’s a child & not an adult.
I’m getting paid to care for and hang out with these little girls. Can you believe it?!
P.S.- I recently had 11ish inches of my hair chopped off. [see photo above]
P.P.S.- Vampire Diaries has one of the best soundtracks of any show. I knew for sure once I heard an instrumental “Falling Slowly” being played by a string quartet for the background noise of a scene tonight.
