I can’t agree more.
Oldie but goodie. Shop smart for smart little girls and boys!
eclectic-melody this little girl is like 5 years old and articulating the same frustrations as us & our fiends!!
For me, replace congregation with Youth and Volunteers, and YES.
When I call someone for work, I’m usually afraid they’ll see through me and realize I’m just a scared kid who doesn’t know anything about anything.
And I’m wondering if this is a mindset that actually fades out at a certain age, or something that will always plague us.
I haven’t told many people yet, BUT…
My new dream is to open a bakery/cafe/coffee house CHURCH. A space where good conversations (and food!) are had & people feel welcome. A place of intentional community. A place where I could bake alllll the time and mainly serve as a minister to local (wherever that will be) youth. Maybe someday. It’s fun when God reminds you that your passions can (should!) be used creatively to radiate the love of Jesus and continue to discover His heart!
AHHH. I can’t believe I’m tumbling you this.
What I expected an Elder’s meeting to be like: knights of the round table or some high council a la LOTR (is there evensomething like that in LOTR? idk.)
Instead, the Elder’s meeting was the sr. minister and 4 other men who, for the most part, feel like adoptive uncles& great uncles to me. We sat around a table on folding chairs and talked about things like fixing the doors of the church van.
I’m afraid because I know the day is coming when this will happen with one of my girls.
"I like to read biographies of dead poets."
"Aren’t those a bit boring?"
"You kidding me? Shelley died on a boat, Byron f*#!ed everything that walked, and Yeats talked to dead people."
Not a fan of his language (sorry, had to censor it- my youth may find me on here!,) but this guy is beyond cool! A lover of biographies, riding a long board on the streets of NY in a suit?! I wish we could be friends.
